Who pays for home health services?

Home health services are not publicly insured under the Canada Health Act, but that does not mean all home health services are exempt from government funding. Those who have served in the armed forces and the RCMP and eligible veterans can qualify for specific home health services. Home health care services are funded both publicly and privately. Publicly-funded clients like Just Like Family services receive care that is either contracted by the agency and paid for by the government or contracted through a home care agency paid by the client who then receives a monthly stipend. Funding for home health care also varies across provinces, so contacting our office to talk to one of our staff members is a great way to learn what your province provides and what your loved one may qualify for.
